There are some new interesting items that were just released:

1.  Digital Fanfare has released 1968 VFW Nationals on compact discs.  These are
not the
Fleetwood recordings, these performances were originally recorded by Ed Burke from Miami, FL.
They were never previously released commercially.  They have recently been restored by DCI's
Recording Guru and Archivist Ken Mason and the results are wonderful.  This two-volume set of
CDs includes the full performance of each finalist along with the announcement of the scores on
Volume 1.  The Kilties are on Volume 2 while the Racine Explorer Scouts are on Volume 1.

2. Released this fall on The Beat Goes On CD series are the 1969 U.S. Open recorded August 16,
1969 at the U.S. Open Finals by Alf Wateska and the 1960 V-J Day Contest recorded July 31, 1960
at Woodstock, IL by Ken Kobold.  Both of these CD sets include the Kilties and the U.S. Open
recording is
not the Fleetwood recording.  Also released in The Beat Goes On CD series this fall
is Volume 1 of the 1952 American Legion Nationals recorded by Stetson Richmond on August 25,
1952 at the American Legion Finals in New York City and it includes the Racine Boys of 76.  Again
these recordings are restored and remastered from original source tapes by Ken Mason and
they were never previously commercially released.  The Beat Goes On CD recordings are
fabulous!

3. 1974/1975/1976 DCI Highlights DVD.  This DVD is the third in a series of releases derived from
the collection of Troopers Founder and Director Jim Jones who originally videotaped many
shows for educational use by the Troopers.  They have been restored by Scott Gordon and are
available exclusively from
Drum Corps World.  The six performances included are the 1974
Stockton Commodores, 1975 Troopers, 1975 Hawthorne Muchachos, 1976 Santa Clara Vanguard,
1976 27th Lancers and the 1976 Troopers.  These videos were recorded at either the Hershey
Invitational or at the Drums Along the Rockies Show, and are
not DCI Championship videos.
