ABOVE: The original Boys of 76 Drum and Bugle Corps traces its roots back to the 1st Wisconsin National
Guard Field Artillery's Batteries C & F Drum and Bugle Corps which was organized in 1916. This photo of
them was taken on Monument Square in Downtown Racine on May 30, 1917. The Battery C & F Drum and
Bugle Corps members pictured above are, from left to right, front row: Fred Maxted, Alonzo Gaidos, Roy
Stream, Beauford Dicks, George Rybacek, David R. Semmes, Oscar Curley, George Seater and Joseph
Oliver; second row: Mark Piel, unknown, Clarence Hill, Harold Dale, Edward Stilb, Sidney Bensinger, Harry

and bugle corps on parade. This view is looking South from the East side of
Main Street on Monumnet Square in Downtown Racine. Sixth Street and Main
Street is the intersection in the view above. The parade then coninued to
proceed North on Main Street as almost all early 1900's parades in Racine did.
