SILVERSTEIN BRASS Photo page #1 copyright 2008
|
These wonderful photos of Silverstein Brass are courtesy of Ken Norman and Cathy Strege. Silverstein Brass traces it roots back
to 1973 when James Chambasian, a member of the Racine Kilties, and two other Park High School band members decided one
day to go to downtown Racine and serenade the Christmas shoppers on Monument Square. The following year Kilties Alumni
Tom Wridt approached Kilties Alumni Ken Norman to help him organize Silverstein Brass for the purpose of playing Christmas
concerts a various locations throughout Racine on the Saturday before Christmas. The highly successful 1974 Silverstein Brass
Christmas Concert Tour was such a hit with Racine's holiday shoppers that the tradition continued for the next 30 years or so.
All of the Silverstein Brass photographs are individually numbered. If anyone has any information, comments or can ID people in
any of the photographs appearing in here please email me at webmaster@racinekiltiesalumni.org Please refer to the
photograph's number when doing so. Thanks!!!
